The Truth About Shipping Flowers From Ecuador: A custom order placed Wednesday will be cut and conditioned Thursday Morning. All of our flowers are conditioned post-harvest at the farm, in a solution that will provide premier shipping characteristics for the long journey to your shop. Thursday the flowers are boxed, pre-cooled, and flown to Miami. Friday the flowers arrive in Miami where they are cleared by Customs agents pre-cooled and shipped on temperature controlled trucks. Sunday Morning at around 5:00am the trucks arrive at our docks where they are unloaded into our coolers. Total time from order to Delivery is Five Days. There is no more efficient way to get quality flowers delivered from South America to you!
We track buying habits of our customers and try to anticipate florists needs. This is not an exact science though and it's impossible to foresee what will be used in any given week. Consequently, it is difficult to carry everything that's available. Don't hesitate to ask us for some obscure product. The earlier a customer gives us an order the more likely it is that he/ she will get precisely what is expected, when expected.
Flowers can be flown from Miami, to save a day or two, but conditions are not controlled. Airlines are notorious for bumping flowers from flights and very few offer cooler usage. A temperature move of just a few degrees can cause moisture build-up and petal rot. Cool, circulating air is the key to stabilize flowers and reduce dehydration.
The Ecuadorian Rose is, well known for its big head, strong stem, intense color and abundance of foliage. The high altitude on the equator, the volcanic soil (most plantations are located close to El Reventador, an active volcano.) and the intense luminosity without high air-pressure, gives the flowers excellent growing possibilities.
We have selected a small number of plantations that best fit our high quality standards. These companies work closely with us to provide custom packed boxes to our customers.
